Impact of BMI on risk of abnormal glucose screening in women with history of GDM

To assess whether women with gestational diabetes (GDM) should be screened the glucose tolerance test (GTT) instead of challenge (GCT) as primary in next pregnancy. This is an IRB-exempt retrospective cohort study. We included GDM who had a subsequent delivery at our institution from 2004-2020. Patients BMI < 18.5 kg/m2, multifetal gestation, pregestational mellitus and chronic hypertension were excluded. classified into cohorts based on early 1-hour GCT value (at less than 20 weeks gestation) pregnancy: normal 130 mg/dL, abnormal ? mg/dL. The recurrence risk was stratified by pregravid class type (A1 versus A2). Data summarized frequencies percentages. Chi-Square tests used to compare groups.
